Since you offered, I'll hold off until the weekend before making my choice.

No need to enter me into next week's contest since I've already won, but my second favorite team is the New York Knicks. As a kid, my mom always thought football was too violent for me to watch, so besides baseball, I'd watch basketball. Although my love for the New York Giants is strong today, I've been a Knicks fan for longer and have great memories of them from the 90's.Steve D.https://www.blogger.com/profile/16623969838835154168noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6106782875218536170.post-3023188978530169232012-11-16T09:43:15.280-06:002012-11-16T09:43:15.280-06:00Iowa State Cyclones basketball...they've got t...Iowa State Cyclones basketball...they've got their new coach, Fred "The Mayor" Hoiberg, who is an ISU alum.Josh D.https://www.blogger.com/profile/13718628093230589490noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6106782875218536170.post-18718004003953717022012-11-16T08:54:45.119-06:002012-11-16T08:54:45.119-06:00The Auburn Tigers, 2-8 record aside! The passion for Auburn, and that other team from out west, is mad.

I got hooked on AU after the 2007 Vandy game. My family is an Auburn family-most folks have gotten degrees there, and certainly no one has from the state school. Went to the Texas A&M game with a family member to see Johnny Manziel run all over us, and saw that the stadium, 1-6 record notwithstanding, was almost sold out, with just a few upper deck seats left. It's crazier when we're not awful though. Just google Paul Finebaum show and you'll get a pretty good idear of the Auburn-Alabama rivalry.

(P.S. When it comes to rivalry rankings, don't trust ESPN. Not so much anymore - the nhl lost me when they cancelled the season a few years ago. I've been an original season ticket holder for the ducks and the wild but I will never go to another nhl game.
