A Huge Pick Up for my Giants Collection

My quest to acquire all of the Topps base cards of the Giants with the exception of the 1952 set is almost complete.  All that is left is the 1951 Red Back Monte Irvin rookie and the Willie Mays cards from 1953-1955 after I picked up this beauty this week:

Here is a zoomed in picture:

I got a little cash for Christmas and decided I would go after at least one of the Mays cards I needed to try and complete my Topps run.  After a week or so of searching and a few offers that were declined, I had a seller accept my offer on this card.  This is one of my favorite sets and I really like the look of this card with the nice close up of The Say Hey kids face and the action photo in the background of him sliding into home.

I am usually not one to go after graded cards but in this case it got me the card I wanted in the condition I wanted in the price range I was looking to spend.  As they get older, the Mays cards get more costly.  I will continue to keep my eyes open but it could be a while before I add another.  This should hold me over for a bit.

This card completes my 1956 Topps team set, so here it is for your viewing pleasure:
